Setting up Inbound Fax Rules in RelayFax 7.0.6 (19) Print

This article gives a general overview of how to create inbound fax rules.

From the RelayFax Server:

  1. Select Rules.
  2. Select Inbound Fax Rules.
  3. In the New Rule section select the radio button that will allow you to route the fax on the desired criteria.
  4. If you have chosen the If The Fax Arrives Via Port option, then choose which port to monitor from the drop down menu and skip to step 7.
  5. From the drop down list select the option for the the desired behavior. These options specify the relationship that is to exist between the transmitting fax device's ID that is being searched, and the 'This Text:' value of each rule.
  6. In the This Text field, type the string that you want RelayFax to key on. If you have an existing rule stating 'If ID contains '123' then send to user01@example.com', and you also have a rule stating 'If ID contains '456' then send to user02@example.com', then any inbound faxes from a device with the ID '123456' will be sent to both addresses.
  7. In the Then Do This With The Incoming Fax section select the action that you would like performed when the rules criteria are met.
  8. Click the Add Rule button.
  9. Click the Apply button.
  10. Click the OK button.
