This articles explains the steps required to setup a gateway in MDaemon for RelayFax.
Setting up a Gateway to be used with MDaemon is the easiest solution for emailing a fax from the LOCAL NETWORK. From the MDaemon menu bar:
- Select on Gateways.
- Select on New Gateway.
- In the Domain Name field, type a domain name Example: fax.mail.
- In the Place Message files For All Users of This Domain Here field, enter the directory where you wish to store incoming mail, which arrives for that domain.
- Click the Apply button.
- Select the POP/IMAP tab.
- In the Mailbox name (logon) field, type the name of the new account you are creating Example: 'Fax'.
- In the Password or shared secret field, type the password for that account Example: 'password'.
- Click the Create/Update Account button.
- Click the OK button.
- Click the Apply button.
- Click the OK button.
When addressing mail for faxing use the faxnumber@fax.mail address Example: 555-1212@fax.mail.
From the RelayFax menu bar:
- Select Tools.
- Select Mail Sources.
- In the Server field, type the IP address of your MDaemon machine.
- In the Logon field, type fax.
- In the Password field, type the password for that account.
- Make sure that the box for Enable This Entry is checked.
- Click the Add button.
- Click the Apply button.
- Click the OK button.
