Installing the RelayFax SMTP Client (51) Print

This article walks you through the RelayFax SMTP client installation.

 

 

 

  1. Select the language download file from our Download the RelayFax Client page
  2. Select Run or Save
  3. Click Next
  4. Select I have read and I agree with all the terms listed above after reading the End User License Agreement.
  5. Click Next
  6. Select the path where you would like to install the RelayFax client.
  7. Click Next
  8. Type the desired full name within the Registered or trial users full name field.
  9. Type the desired company name within the Registered or trial users company name field.
  10. Click Next
  11. Choose which components you would like to install.
  12. Select the paper size.
  13. Click Next
  14. Click Next

 

RelayFax SMTP Client/Printer Driver Setup

 

  1. Type the desired name within the My Real Name field.
  2. Type the desired email address within the My Email Address field.
  3. Type the desired domain name or IP Address of your SMTP mail server within the My Mail Server Name or IP field.
  4. Type the desired email address of the RelayFax server within the RelayFax Email Address field.  (The RelayFax server monitors this email address for new faxes)
  5. Click Next
  6. If your system Administrator has a specific shared contact list file you may specify the path in the text box under Leave this blank to preserve existing settings. If not, leave this text box blank.
  7. Click Next
  8. Check the box 'Register TIF Extensions' if you would like to open up TIF files with RelayFax's Fax Viewer by default.
  9. Click Finish

 

To launch the RelayFax SMTP Client, double click on the Faxclnt.exe file located in the directory you installed the client. You may also create a shortcut on the desktop. 

 

Additional Comments:

 

There are advantages to using the RelayFax client such as converting faxes on the client machine rather than using the servers recourses to convert the fax, address book, adding a cover page, etc...

 

Another way to send faxes using the RelayFax client without an SMTP server is sending directly to RelayFax's RFC822 folder.  You will need to verify that the client has network access to the RelayFax's RFC822 folder.  For more information, use the related articles section.
