This article covers the configuration of the RelayFax server and client.
Setting Up the RelayFax Server
- Click File.
- Click RelayFax Properties.

- In the Company field, type the name of your company.

- In the Fax Number field, type the phone number of the fax line.

- In the Voice Number field, type your land line phone number.

- Click Mail Server tab.

- In the Spool Incoming Faxes To This Mail Server field, enter the IP address of your Mail Server.

- In the Send On This TCP Port field, type the port number(default is 25).

- In the SMTP Envelope ID field, type the Email address of the RelayFax server. Ex: user01@example.com.

- In the Name for FROM field enter the optional name that RelayFax will use in the From field (such as Megan Ball or RelayFax Server).

- In the Default Email Address field, type the
address of the person you will designate if RelayFax cannot determine to
whom an incoming fax should be addressed.

- In the HELO Identification field, type your domain name or your ISP's domain name Ex. example.com.

- Click Apply.

- Click OK.

- Click Tools.
- Click Rescan Ports.

- Click Tools.
- Click Mail Sources. Here you can specify as many
mail server accounts as you wish. RelayFax will collect Email from each
of them, convert the Emails to faxes, and then send them.

- In the Server field, enter the POP3 server from which you wish mail to be collected.

- In the Logon field, enter the POP3 Username that accesses the mail account on the specified server.

- In the Password field, enter the POP3 Pass value that accesses the mail account on the specified server.

- Make sure that the Enable This Entry box is checked.

- Click the Add Entry button.(To add a new POP3 Mail
Host to the current list, fill in the various controls on this dialog,
and then click the Add Entry button. At designated processing intervals,
RelayFax will check all enabled entries for mail messages at these
locations. Then, RelayFax will route these messages according to the
parameters defined on the Default Rules and Outbound Fax Rules tabs).

- Click Apply.

- Click OK.

- Click Rules.
- Click Default fax rules.

- Make sure that the Extract Fax Number From The E-mail's TO: or SUBJECT: Header is checked.

- Click Apply.

- Click OK.

- Click Accounts.
- Click Account Manager.

- In the Real Name field, enter the Real name into this text box that RelayFax will accept as a user for sending faxes.

- In the Email Address field enter the Email Address of the user that RelayFax will accept as a user for sending faxes.

- In the Password field you can leave it blank if you
want no password to be used. Otherwise enter the password that the
client will have setup to allow faxes to be sent.

- Click the Add button.

- In the Automatically Add Accounts When First Fax From Them Is Received
switch is enabled, RelayFax will automatically add to the list of
accounts in the Address Listing, each address from which it receives a
message. This makes it possible to automatically build your list of
users.

Setting Up the RelayFax Client
- Click Start.
- Click Programs.
- Click RelayFax.
- Click RelayFax Client.
- Right click the RelayFax icon in the system tray.
- Click Properties.

- In the Real Name field, enter your name here. This information will appear on the cover page of faxes that you send.

- In the My Email address is field, place your Email address in this text box.

- In the Fax password field, type the password that
you setup under the account settings on the RelayFax server. Leave this
field blank if you are no going to use a password.

- Select the Server Settings tab.

- In My Mail Server's Domain Name or IP Address field, type the IP address of your Email Server.

- In Send On This TCP Port type 25.

- In the RelayFax account Email address field, you
will ordinarily send your faxes to this Email address. This is the
address that RelayFax monitors for messages to be faxed. When it finds a
message in this mailbox, the message will be collected and faxed to its
destination according to a set of administrator designated parameters.

- Click Apply.

- Click OK.
