This article will explain configuring a Symbian OS phone to connect to MDaemon's SyncML service. Symbian phones come with a SyncML client so there is no need to install additional software on these devices. One only needs to set up the synchronization profile.
To set up the synchronization profile:
- From the desktop select Extra | Synchronization
- Press the Menu button and select New
- If the system asks you to copy data from the selected profile answer 'no.'
- For the profile name enter 'MDaemon' and press Continue
- Select connection type 'Internet', the Internet access point and press Continue
- Enter the following settings:
Host: http://mail.example.com/MDSyncml.dll (where mail.example.com is the URL of the WorldClient server)
Port: Port used by WorldClient (default is 3000)
Username: Your MDaemon email address
Password: Your MDaemon password - Press Continue
- Turn contacts on
- Turn calendar on
- Turn email off
- Press Next
- Enter 'contacts' for the external contacts database and press Continue
- Enter 'calendar' for the external calendar database and press Continue
- Set this profile as the default profile if you'd like and press Continue
