The following instructions describe what you need to know and have before installing SecurityGateway for the first time.
SecurityGateway installs on any Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008 computer system. SMTP services require a Winsock compliant TCP/IP stack such as that which ships with Microsoft Windows. In addition, SecurityGateway requires that a Network Interface Card with a valid MAC address be present and enabled for installation and to operate.
Before you install SecurityGateway you will need to review and know the following information:
- Review OS requirements
- Have Adobe Flash Player 8 (or above) installed on machine or machines you intend to browse the SecurityGateway site from in order to view reports
- Have your Registration key available (if not using a trial)
- The drive/path to which you will be installing
- Domain name(s) that will be used
- IP address or hostname of the destination servers & whether they require authentication
- Whether you will be keeping a copy of messages or removing them once they have been delivered to the destination MTA
- Name of admin account(s)
- What method of account verification you will be using
