This article details how to reset the password on the administrative accounts in SecurityGateway if you forget the password for the original administrative account that is made during installation.

  1. Click the Windows Start button
  2. Click Run
  3. Type in 'cmd'
  4. Press the Enter key or click OK
  5. The command prompt window will open
  6. Stop the SecurityGateway service
    1. Type net stop securitygateway
    2. Press the Enter key
  7. Change directories to the App folder in SecurityGateway, which by default is \Program Files\Alt-N Technologies\SecurityGateway\App
  8. Type SGDBTool.exe reset
  9. Press the Enter key
  10. Restart the SecurityGateway service
    1. Type net start securitygateway
    2. Press the Enter key

NOTE: This will reset all the administrative accounts on the server to a blank field, so it is highly recommended that you then log into the SecurityGateway server and change all administrator passwords.
