  • 0

This article explains how to configure SecurityGateway to utilize bandwidth-throttling, which limits the connection speed of incoming and outgoing connections to conserve bandwidth.

From the Dashboard, after logging in:

  1. Click on Security in the lower-left corner
  2. Locate the Anti-Abuse section
  3. Click on Bandwidth Throttling

You may then configure the following options:

  • Limit inbound SMTP connections to xx KiB per second

Incoming sessions will be limited to this many kilobytes per second. By default, this is disabled.

  • Limit outbound SMTP connections to xx KiB per second

Outgoing sessions will be limited to this many kilobytes per second. By default, this is disabled.

  • Exclude messages from domain email server

SecurityGateway will not limit the speed of connections made from any domain email servers that you have configured. By default, this is disabled.

  • Exclude messages from authenticated sessions

If the incoming session authenticates with a username and password on the server, SecurityGateway will not limit its connection speed. By default, this is disabled.

  • Exclude messages from whitelisted senders

If the incoming session is from a host, or IP address, that you have set in SecurityGateway's whitelist, it will not limit the speed of the connection. By default, this is disabled.
