Configuring the Windows 10 or 8.1 Mail application with MDaemon's ActiveSync server Print

Use this procedure to configure the Windows 10 or Windows 8.1 Mail application with MDaemon's ActiveSync server.

Note: If you're using a self signed certificate, it's required you install it to the client machine first before setting up ActiveSync on the Windows 8 mail client.

To install the self signed certificate:


  1. Launch Internet Explorer
  2. Select Tools button
  3. Select Security
  4. Select Trusted Sites
  5. Select Sites
  6. Add your WorldClient URL (For example, https://mail.domain.com)
  7. Select OK
  8. Browse to your WorldClient URL
  9. Select Continue to this website (not recommended)
  10. Select Certificate error
  11. Select View Certificate
  12. Select Install Certificate
  13. Select Local Machine
  14. Select Next
  15. Select Place all certificates in the following store
  16. Select Browse
  17. Select Trusted Root Verification Authorities
  18. Select OK
  19. Select Next
  20. Select Finish


Once you have installed the self signed certificate, configure the ActiveSync email account in Windows 8.

Note: You must be logged into a Microsoft account in order to add your account. Also, during the configuration, it's not required you enter in any information in the Domain field.


  1. Select the Mail application
  2. Scroll your mouse to the bottom right and click on Settings
  3. Select Accounts
  4. Select Add an Account
  5. Select Outlook
  6. Select Show more details
  7. Enter your Email address
  8. Enter Server Address (For example, mail.domain.com)
  9. Enter full username (For example, user@domain.com)
  10. Enter password
  11. Select Connect
