Use this procedure to configure the Windows 10 or Windows 8.1 Mail application with MDaemon's ActiveSync server.
Note: If you're using a self signed certificate, it's required you install it to the client machine first before setting up ActiveSync on the Windows 8 mail client.
To install the self signed certificate:
- Launch Internet Explorer
- Select Tools button
- Select Security
- Select Trusted Sites
- Select Sites
- Add your WorldClient URL (For example, https://mail.domain.com)
- Select OK
- Browse to your WorldClient URL
- Select Continue to this website (not recommended)
- Select Certificate error
- Select View Certificate
- Select Install Certificate
- Select Local Machine
- Select Next
- Select Place all certificates in the following store
- Select Browse
- Select Trusted Root Verification Authorities
- Select OK
- Select Next
- Select Finish
Once you have installed the self signed certificate, configure the ActiveSync email account in Windows 8.
Note:
You must be logged into a Microsoft account in order to add your
account. Also, during the configuration, it's not required you enter in
any information in the Domain field.
- Select the Mail application
- Scroll your mouse to the bottom right and click on Settings
- Select Accounts
- Select Add an Account
- Select Outlook
- Select Show more details
- Enter your Email address
- Enter Server Address (For example, mail.domain.com)
- Enter full username (For example, user@domain.com)
- Enter password
- Select Connect
