Using Outlook Connector to connect to MDaemon's free/busy service (345) Print

  • 0

MDaemon Pro includes a Free/Busy server which is compatible with Microsoft Outlook with Outlook Connector for MDaemon.

A Free/Busy server is used to verify attendees are available when scheduling appointments through Outlook, without needing to give access to view the attendee's calendar directly.

Additional Comments

If you'd like to use a password, enter a global password for free/busy under Setup | WorldClient | Calendar - Free/busy password. Then, add that same password to the free/busy URL in Outlook in this format (where 'secret' is the password): http://<WC Server><:Port>/Worldclient.dll?view=fbinfo&user=%NAME%@%SERVER%&password=secret

Outlook Connector is required in order to use the Free/Busy server when using MDaemon.  The Free/Busy Server runs through WorldClient, and is limited to events that exist in the user's default WorldClient calendar.  Outlook Connector is used to automatically synchronize a user's calendar in Outlook to WorldClient.

Note: If you have WorldClient configured for only HTTPS connections then you'll need to specify HTTPS instead of HTTP.
