One of the most important things you must do in cPanel is provide an email (NOT attached to a domain name you’re hosting) where you can receive updates if need be.
Click “Contact Information” to be taken to the following screen:
We strongly recommend leaving all of those boxes checked, as they’re all updates that could alert you to suspicious activity (like someone else changing your password) or a hosting problem (like disk space being used up).
