How do I move existing BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) accounts to BlackBerry Enterprise Server (B Print

  • 0

This article will explain how to move existing BIS integrated accounts to ‘BES enabled’ accounts.

In order to move existing BIS accounts to ‘BES enabled’ accounts, you will need to manually remove the MDaemon integrated BIS account from each BlackBerry device. You may also remove the end users BIS account through their carrier’s BIS site.

Note: Removing the email account does not remove any prior email messages received on the MDaemon integrated BIS account from the BlackBerry device. The icon for the MDaemon integrated BIS account will remove itself from the home screen. All email messages from that account will default to the Messages icon on the home screen. You may remove them manually to avoid duplicates.

On the BlackBerry device:

Note: Instructions may vary depending on which model and operating system the BlackBerry device you are using has installed. In this example, the BlackBerry 9000 (Bold) is used.

  1. Select the Personal Email Setup/Email Settings icon from the home screen, and then press the trackball.
Note: This icon may be within a Setup folder on the home screen.

  2. If you have a BIS account with your carrier, please enter your username/password, and login.
Note: Please contact your carrier for issues logging into the BIS account.

  3. Select the MDaemon integrated BIS account and then press the BlackBerry Menu key
  4. Select Delete and then press the trackball

  5. A message will display: Are you sure you want to delete this email account: user01@example.com

  6. Select Yes and then press the trackball

On your carrier’s BIS site:

Note: Instructions may vary depending on your carrier’s BIS site.

  1. You can find your carrier’s BIS site from the list here: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/blackberry101/setup.jsp#tab_tab_email
  2. Log in or create a new account.
Note: Please contact your carrier for issues logging into the BIS account.
  3. Click the Trash icon next to the MDaemon integrated BIS account.
  4. A dialogue box will display the message: Are you sure you want to delete this email account: user01@example.com?
  5. Click Ok
