We're writing to inform you of an upcoming change to your organization's Google Workspace release setting. Starting January 19, 2026, we will switch the release setting for your domain from Scheduled Release to Rapid Release.
We've provided additional information below to explain how this change impacts your organization.
What this means for your organization
Key changes:
Rapid Release gives your users early access to the latest Generally Available (GA) Google Workspace features. This includes new tools and AI features, allowing your organization to incorporate the latest updates into your workflows and provide your feedback that influences product development.
Effects of the change and your options:
- Access to new features: Your organization will have access to new features as soon as they are launched, rather than waiting a week or more.
- No impact on privacy, security, or compliance: All early GA features comply with Google Workspace Terms of Service, privacy commitments and security measures.
- Flexibility to opt out: You have the option to opt out or switch back at any time.
What you need to do
No action is required from you for the automatic release setting change to be implemented.
If you prefer to keep your current Scheduled Release setting, you can take one of the following actions:
Opt out before the change: You can opt out of this automatic switch before January 19, 2026, by selecting Scheduled Release from Account settings. Here are the steps to follow:
a. In Account Settings, open the "New features" panel.
b. Click Scheduled Release, then click Save.
Any manual change to the setting will preserve your choice.
Switch back after the launch: You can switch your setting back to Scheduled Release at any time after the change is implemented.
