THOBSON Michigan Data Center Network Maintenance – January 30, 2023 to February 10, 2023: MODE: Live Migration
IMPACTED CUSTOMER:
Customers hosted on our Enterprise Server host.ThobsonCloud.com or host.ThobsonCentral.com with IP 72.52.178.67.
Our Monitoring System got an amber alert for the RAID and our on floor engineering team had replaced the Hard Drive set and were able to build the RAID array last night without any downtime. Our Monitoring System is still showing an amber light indicating some issues with the RAID Controller.
As a primitive measure we are migrating impacted sites and that your site is one of them. Although this is an emergency migration but we are still able to reschedule it because of the redundancy and resiliency at the hardware level. The system will continue to work without any issue or performance degradation. Our Data Center Supervisors team has decided last night to plan a brand new hardware which is in place and we will be initiating migration one by one and one site per time.
The migration may take some time and each site has a different time but our success in doing this is to ensure that the data is replicated using rsync between the source and destination server and that this migration is a seamless to all customers.
*ACTION REQUIRED FROM CUSTOMER*
The following customer should coordinate with the local support team or reply to the same ticket if you fall under any of the category defined below;
a. If your site has any API module which his connected using a remote hook or any other endpoint, you must update with the new IP.
b. If your clients are using IP and not the host name, for example instead of mail.domain.com, you are using 72.52.178.67, then you must change it to the server name.
c. If you have any specific custom module installed or have requested ay customization like PHP Modules or any custom parameters change, you should notify so we can make sure the same is available on the new server too.
d. All customers with redundant DNS Clusters does not have to worry about the zone transfer, that is an automatic and auto-recoverable feature, the zones will be replicated and updated automatically.
e. Customers who are managing their own domains, might require to update their Name Servers to the following;
ns1.ThobsonHub.com
ns2.ThobsonHub.com
f. IPs are changed as follows
OLD IP: 72.52.178.67
NEW IP: 69.16.230.8
