SecurityGateway Version 8.5.1 Now Available

SecurityGateway version 8.5.1 is available NOW! As always, your current license holders are eligible for a free upgrade. New features in version 8.5.1 include:

• Secure Messaging Web Portal allows admins to create content filter rules, data leak prevention rules, and sieve scripts to scan email messages for sensitive content and send them via the secure messaging portal over an encrypted connection
• Microsoft (Office) 365 Integration App that allows users to mark emails as spam from within Office 365
• Password Policy Strength Meter to encourage stronger passwords when adding or modifying user accounts.
• Includes the latest vulnerability patch.

Feature Tip: Hybrid Network Mail Routing in SecurityGateway

In version 8.5, user-based mail routing allows SecurityGateway to be deployed in a hybrid environment where email can be routed to specific mail servers or cloud
mail services on a per-user basis. This is useful for environments in which email for some of a domain's users is hosted on cloud services while email for other users is hosted on on-premise mail servers.

Customization Tip: How to Block Incoming Connections Based on Geography

The Location Screening feature allows MDaemon Email admins to block inbound connections from specific countries. Cybercriminals use compromised servers around the world to launch hacking attacks or to send malicious email attachments, including malware, ransomware, and other threats. Blocking connections from countries that are not relevant to your customers' business can help protect them from these email-borne threats. Plus, since large amounts of spam originate from specific countries, Location Screening provides additional spam filtering benefits beyond the traditional anti-spam features.
